1、Signing a contract
Clearly define the responsibilities and obligations of both parties
Customer: The contract must clearly specify the specific requirements of the customer for the style, color, material, size, printing content, etc. of the umbrella. For example, the customer requires that the color of the umbrella surface is a specific Pantone color number, the ribs are made of 8-rib aluminum alloy, and the umbrella surface needs to be printed with a complex company logo pattern. Details such as these must be detailed in the contract.
Manufacturer: The manufacturer needs to promise in the contract to complete the production of umbrellas in accordance with the agreed quality standards, delivery time, etc. For example, it is stipulated that the manufacturer must ensure that the UV protection index of the umbrella reaches UPF50 + and that the delivery is completed within 30 working days after the contract is signed.
Quality standard definition
Material quality: List the quality standards of the materials of each part of the umbrella in detail. For example, the umbrella surface fabric must have a certain waterproof performance and must not leak after many waterproof tests; the aluminum alloy material of the ribs must meet the relevant national strength and corrosion resistance standards.
Manufacturing process: requirements are put forward for the manufacturing process of umbrellas, such as the suture of the umbrella surface should be tight and uniform, and there should be no derailment; the connection between the ribs and the umbrella surface should be firm and able to withstand a certain amount of tension, etc.
Intellectual property protection
Pattern copyright: If the customized umbrella involves a unique pattern design, the copyright of the pattern must be clearly stated in the contract. For example, the copyright of the original design pattern provided by the customizer belongs to the customizer, and the manufacturer shall not use the pattern for other commercial activities without authorization.
Trademark use license: If the customizer’s trademark needs to be printed on the umbrella, the scope and period of the trademark use license must be stated in the contract to ensure the legal use of the trademark.

2、Pay the deposit
Deposit ratio
Generally speaking, it is common for the deposit ratio to be between 30% and 50% of the total contract amount. For example, if the total amount of an umbrella customization contract is 10,000 yuan, the deposit can be set at 3,000 to 5,000 yuan. However, the specific ratio can be negotiated and determined based on factors such as the degree of trust between the two parties, the order size, and the production cycle.
Payment method
Bank transfer: This is a common payment method. The customizer transfers the deposit to the bank account designated by the manufacturer through a corporate or personal bank account. When transferring, it is necessary to indicate in the remarks that it is the deposit for the umbrella customization contract so that the manufacturer can check and verify it.
Check payment: Issuing a check to pay the deposit is also a feasible way. The customizer fills out the check, indicating the name of the payee (producer), amount, date and other information, and indicates in the check purpose column that it is an umbrella customization deposit.
Electronic payment: With the popularity of electronic payment, such as WeChat payment, Alipay payment, etc. can also be used for deposit payment. Both parties need to confirm the payment account information to ensure that the deposit is safely and accurately paid to the manufacturer’s account.
The role and refund terms of the deposit
Ensure production start-up: The deposit is mainly used to ensure that the manufacturer can start production smoothly after receiving the order, including the purchase of raw materials, arrangement of production equipment and personnel and other preliminary work.
Refund situation: The conditions for the refund of the deposit should be clearly stipulated in the contract. For example, if the manufacturer fails to perform its obligations in accordance with the quality standards and delivery time agreed in the contract, the customization party has the right to request the return of the deposit and may require the manufacturer to bear corresponding compensation liability based on the circumstances of the breach of contract; if the customization party unilaterally cancels the order, under certain conditions (such as production has not yet started), the manufacturer can deduct part of the fees and return the remaining deposit, and the specific deduction ratio should also be clearly stated in the contract.
